Cid’s Theme

An arrangement of a popular video game track in “Final Fantasy”, arranged by Jonathan Ong.

One of my great passions is discovering and arranging modern music using techniques and attributes originating from classical music.

Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement, Beethoven

Ah yes, the one and only Moonlight Sonata that everyone knows and loves. Probably one of the first pieces you think of when someone says ‘classical music’ but I’d say it’s for a good reason, however.

Arguably one of the most well known written pieces of classical music written by one of the most famous composers of that era, the third movement of the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven poses great technical challenges, particularly highlighted in the rapid pace of the piece. The sonata is an impressive addition to any pianist’s repertoire and I would encourage all higher level pianists to play this!

Ballade No. 1 in G minor, Chopin

Probably one of the lesser-known pieces within the general public, however, one of the most cherished pieces in the Romantic era, Chopin’s Ballade No.1 in G minor is the perfect piece to show off your interpretational skills and how well you’re able to express your style in music.
